no mutiny at Borussia
By: otto | February 10th, 2009Further to a Bild report that Borussia President Rolf Königs had received a letter from the players upset the coach Hans Meyers to exclude several players from the winter-break training camp, the club has responded that the there is not a player mutiny.
The situation stems from the decision to move Samy Coulibaly, Uwe Gospodarek, Marcel Ndjeng, Sascha Rosler, Sharbel Touma and Alex Voigt.
There is a great deal of confusion with the letter because while Filip Daems expressed that it was showed “solidarity with the affected players”, he also criticized Bild for publishing it and noted that it wasn’t read by all players or signed off by anyone.
He went on to express that this matter was put to rest a number of weeks ago and the players are united, as shown in recent play.
I don’t put a lot of value in this, even if the letter was signed and stamped. This is a relegation fight and positions will be won and lost. For those who have played, they know this. For writers, its clever copy behind the safety of your keyboards.
