key signings led by Tomáš Galásek

By: otto | December 22nd, 2008

As expected Hans Meyer is putting together a side to rescue Borussia from relegation. With the first wave of signings, the most notable addition is thirty-five year-old Czech Republic international Tomáš Galásek from FC Baník Ostrava who will have a substantial impact upon the midfield. Additionally the club has signed Paul Stalteri, most recently at Tottenham young Belgian goalkeeper Logan Bailly.

Bailly is a toptransfer. He might be a little careless sometimes, but he’s without a doubt the best Belgian goalkeeper. And only 22, which allows him to grow.

Stalteri is good as well. Knows the BL from his Werder-days, and he’s motivated.

I never could have dreamt to have such a good mercato already. Gladbach now has all the talent to stay in the Bundesliga.

All very good signings and I think Tomáš Galásek will have a major impact with leadership. There are still a few more changes but this club will be ready to climb from the basement.
