Borussia dig in against 96

By: otto | February 20th, 2009

With three fine matches behind them, Borussia have made a very good start to start of Rückrunde. However while Borussia have been able to play level against Hoffenheim and Bremen, the distance they have to make up has increased as Arminia Bielefeld, Bochum, Energie Cottbus and KSC as each club has been able to pull off a upset.

Not to be deterred, Hans Meyer has few absences against Hannover tomorrow at Borussia-Park. With only Jean-Sébastien Jaurès and Dante out, the squad is nearly at full strength and they realize the importance of the match. Calling the Borussia situation “precarious”, he acknowledged that they need a full three points or chances to avoid relegation will suffer. Hannover ‘keeper Robert Enke has been victimized with six goals in the last two matches, with his defending unit very suspect and causing his a rash of problems. Along with poor recent play Hannover has only a single draw in nine matches away from home and while that may help boost confidence, Borussia must attack at will with Marko Marin and Rob Friend pushing the attack forward. Roberto Colautti has looked very solid of recent although Oliver Neuville or Karim Matmour are likely to feature.
