Borussia challenge in Berlin

Needing a big turnaround in the Rückrunde, Borussia have answered the call and are undefeated in three matches. However Saturday afternoon’s trip east to Berlin will be one of their most difficult challenges as Hertha BSC have won their last seven matches at home and know a victory is important if they are to remain in the championship hunt.

To complicate matters for Hans Meyer’s return to Berlin, where he triumphantly lead them to safety five years ago, he may be without Tomáš Galásek for the match due to a stomach flu. The addition of the Czech holding midfielder from Banik Ostrava this past December has paid rich dividends and his absence will cause significant strain on defending tactics. Additionally Steve Gohouri is suffering back problems and his inclusion in the lineup will likely be a last minute decision. Jean-Sébastien Jaurès and Dante are sill unavailable and Moses Lamidi, who has shown well in training, will make the trip.

The Berliners will have Josip Šimunić available but Sofian Chahed, Serbian international Marko Pantelić, Łukasz Piszczek and Fabian Lustenberger are all out.
